Well I 'll be. The wifes uncle stopped over for christmas yesterday and gave me one of them twin fan heater/ a/c self contained units. It is a 12 volt system a/c part is all contained all ya do is hook up to the 12 source, connect the 2 water lines from the tractor and BAM a eated and A/c cab. So I guess I can open my search up to include tractors that have no heat and air, What do them buggers sell for. It's brand new, over stock. He also gave me a new little heater/blower cube like Allan put in his cab he installed , that did cost me $20 though, said he didnt like me THAT much. That heater-A/C unit is pretty slick is smaller than 2 -24 pack cans of MGD.

Says Badge*Aire Severe Duty heating and air conditioning on the serial tag. Aint had much time yet to read what amp requirements it will need. I Am sure it will be 20-30 amps, maybe more as it has 2 blowers. Its funny cause I was just giving him crap last time I seen him that it would be nice to have one. Who knows how many and types he even has. He had 4 different one with him that day, including a evaporator assembly with 2 big fans on it would have been perfect for Allans project the other week. Now I have one if I need it. I just need to find a decent tractor with a cab on it for my future farming adventures. Also plan on making one of them combinesnowblower crossbreeds if I can find a cheap GOOD running combine round here. I'll post a pic in a day or so of that slick heater-a/c unit next to the beer cases so Ya all know what I am talking bout. Course they'll be different cases as I am now quite thirsty.

I expect you need an engine mounted compressor as well? Or is the compressor run off of 12V ? If so what is the current Draw ? I have never fooled around with one of those.

Nope, the compressor is right in the unit as well as the evap and cond. Has 2 tubes for hooking up the hot coolant lines for heat, and 2 little drain tubes to plumb the condensation out of the unit. It is quite a heavy bugger. Where he works makes all kinds of aftermarket and factory installed heating cooling units. He apparently get them when there are model changes and these are obsoleted, he is always so stingy about haning on to them for???? Really shocked me that he gave me the big one. Only thing he's ever given at xmas in the 8 years I known him.
