i was having allthe trouble in the world . the head was completly refurbished , i reassembled the motor , it started first go and was ideling nicely , but as soon as i revved it up it backfired through the carby , stripped the carby , cleaned it , put it back , still backfires , cleaned the air filter , still backfires , OK must be the timing , so out with No 1 spark plug , off with dizzy cap to set No 1 TDC . THEN I MADE AN AMAZING DISCOVERY , THE DIZZY ROTOR ROTATES IN AN ANTI CLOCKWISE DIRECTION . i had assumed it went clockwise , because every motor vehicle i had ran clockwise , so i switched 2 and 3 spark plug leads , now it runs like a singer sewing machine . this may help other maniacs ...robin
