Today December 23, 2006 is the 70th birthday of the Gold Leaf Deere. It got a good dusting with it's feather duster. Also got another shot of WD40 in the sparkplug holes and rolled over ten revotutions by it's 70 year and two day old owner.

My comment to Gene Davis(GA) is Me thinks that neither a whole sack of Gold Leaf Deeres or a bushel of blessings from the Pope gonna get me or any other poor soul into Heaven. Only by faith in My Lord Jesus Christ will get me or any body else there. Hope to see you there. Merry Christmas

Hey 37 chief, the Gold-Leaf-Deere was built to commerate the 100 anniversary of Mr John Deere making his first plow. It is a regular 1937 D with a paint job to match the color of Gold Leaf, I have displayed from Oklahoma to New York and from Michigan to Florida. I have hauled it about 50,000 miles in the last seven years to 64 different shows, my old body and the old Dodge just ain't what they used to be to be. I will hit the shows in 2007, but hav'nt made up my mind which one yet.

john deere gold anniversary model "D", an original commemoration for Deere. I've actually touched the tire on it! Now just think, i feel almost as good as being blessed by the pope.

No kiding Gene. Makes me think of the story about the rich man who had figured out a way to take his gold with him. Got the tohe pearly gates and St Peter gave him a funny look. Thanked the rich man for bringing up some more pavement!
