I still see that prices are right up there on the photo and classified ads. I was wondering if anyone had any input on whether or not things are actually selling at the asking prices shown.
The majority seem to be kind of high priced.

i have noticed some of the same stuff in local ads, ( frebie ad type ) running for months. The local wheeler Dealer has been advertising a valve for a Ford tractor ( prority steering valve ) for a couple of years. Guy wants about $1000 for the valve, has never got it. I bought a 4 row JD Model 70 planter for $300. Darn thing is like new. Guy had it for 25 years, used it on 15 acres, had 1 set of plates for corn, one set for beans. Also collected JD. Divorce was forcing him to sell off everything. That must have really hurt. Most of these deals, cash talks, no other language is spoken.

As far as eBay goes, things are selling cheap. I just bought in the last two weeks a 95 Dodge Ram 2500 and a 99 Chevy Suburban for 1/2 of blue book value... The Mrs. is happy about the Suburban, I'm happy about the Dodge Ram!

Steven,

Is your new Ram a deisel? Been trying to sell my 97 1500 with no luck. Had to put a new motor and tranny in it last week... now I"m really in the hole! (been eyeing 2002 ram 2500 diesel for a while now)... just have to wait until my truck sells..

95 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 5.9 magnum V-8 and automatic. 2-wheel drive in good shape and I paid $3k for it. I honestly bought it for parts to fix my brother's 98 rollover, but the book value is around $7k...

Not many people want the gas Dodge, local mechanic is really down on the Magnum V-8 engines - I don't know why. In one breath he says they are good for 200,000 miles, the next breath he's complaining about them...

Mine went 280k before it had cylinder head trouble. The timing chain jumped a couple of teeth and that was the end...It was still running on six cylinders when the garage pulled the motor...wish I could have stuffed a nice cummins 12 valve motor and five speed in that truck..

Anyway 3k is a pretty good price on a used dodge.

I think stuff on Ebay and other places drops off this time of year. Its the Christmass season and also property taxes are due. so people have less money to spend and not as much time to watch Ebay. Seems to me they stay down until mid Feb. I watch this time of year.Sometimes there are some good deals.

I have been checking the prices of tractor parts on ebay the last few days, and they seem to be really low, another reason that I stopped listing on ebay.

I am in the same boat you are in, bout have got out of the ebay deal. I put sum of my stuff in a store at a buy it now price. Sales are really down but stuff that sells brings my price. I don’t miss the hassle of the auction deal at all. It does surprise me at the low prices I see their, just goes to prove theirs sum out their who have nuttin to do and sell at close to cost and give the profits to ebay. Sure sounds like ebays the pimp in the deal. I have came up with a few items that I wuz the only one who had at the time. They sold well I made money, wuz a good buy for the customer. It did not take long fer others to figger out my package and see I wuz doing well on the items. I then see I go a few weeks and no sales on these hot items do a search and see were a few others have it listed at cost, they ruined the market no one makes enny money.
Nutter killer izz the parts suppliers come out with new stuff so I get a few to see how they will sell. Next thang I know I am sit’in on a few hundred bucks of the stuff then they come up with a special at a big savings and then ebay izz flooded with these parts and I am stuck with’em are sell at a loss to match the others. So Now I never jump on new stuff, I wait in a few mounts it will be on special at a much lower cost.
