Boy! Tell ya what!

The pressure has been on around here (self-imposed). :>)

That ol' hairy-legged Gary from over in Iowa is gonna be sending a tractor out this way any day for me to work on.

Just gotta hurry up and get mine out of the way, so's I can work on his.

Could not find an evaporator drip-tray anywhere; just absolutely none to be found. Even bit the bullet and tried to buy a new one this morning from CaseIH; no longer serviced. :>(

Anyhoo, finally just now found one in a salvage yard....Whew! Finally, finally, finally; pressure is off. :>)

Back to work!

Allan

Geeessss Allen myself i would have pulled that cab off and went and got one that had all the trinkets already in there . Would have been a lot less stressful . Been down that road before when a neighbor 's hired hnd fliped a 1486 on her back in the silage pit while packen , messed up the back of the cab and broke out the back winder and my buddy and i got the job of tryen to fix it because the neighbor BARROWED the tractor from a guy that is real fussy and it had to be 100% when it went back to him . Well we looked all over the place for the stuff we needed and like you was having a hard time finding what we needed . Well i was at a sale that i went to once a month and got talken to a vary good friend of mine who ownes a salvage yard and asked him if he would part out a cab for what we needed and he said no but I'll sell ya a real good cab with good interior for 500 bucks and all ya have to do is un-plug a few things and the four mounting bolts and drop this one down on . That was what we did .

It's the funnest thing, Sir.

It will take 46 gallons of diesel for that tractor to ride a flatbed the few miles out to my place. Cough, cough, gasp, wheeeze. :>)

Air in my old 1066. Somebody had gutted it and put on a roof-mount swamp cooler.

When I say, "gutted", you can't believe how! :>)

Basically,

It is a box inside of which is a wire horse-haired, covered squirrel-cage wheel that runs in a reservoir containing ordinary water.

The fan then pulls air thru this squirrel cage/water-dipped mat and directs that then-water-cooled air to the cab area to cool the temp.

They do work well. Just isn't true IH A/C is all. :>)

If you ever get out to Salt Lake city you will see those swamp coolers mounted up on top of the houses. Water is pumped through, and as the water evaporates, it takes the heat with it. they work pretty good in dry climates where there is very little humidity.

And,

Where the outfit runs on the level. Now, they will "rain" down the back of yer neck on uneven terrain.

Don't ask me how I know. :>)

According to my step-son-in law, they will do that in the houses also. Makes a real mess.
