HI Gang;
The "do gooders" are pushing hard here to get all smoking banned. Cant smoke anywhere there are people, and SCotland too has banned smoking in vehicles including farm tractors !!!
The biggest pain here is the price $10.24 per pack of 20 !!!
After the heart attack 4 weeks ago I have been told to quit smoking - hard - very hard. Down from 20 to 6 a day - very hard !!!
Cheers David

I hope we don"t get smoking banned everywhere here . Doc chews me out for smoking in my tractor cab. Doc says the air just circulates the smoke and I get it twice. I had 4 by passes this summer & 2 heart attacks. hard to quit. I quit for a few weeks & gained about 20 lbs. Went back to smoking to lose the weight. Doc said if I wanted to continue to farm & live I had to quit. I hope you can quit David. Good Luck

Congratulations to all who have quit or tried to. My hat is off to williamf for his accomplishments. I hope that the whole world sees his post and finds it as inspiring as I do.

I've been trying for a long time to quit. The dingbat doctor's assistant was taking my blood pressure at the doctor's office one day. All the time she was giving me a bunch os s**t about my smoking and how she was smart enough to not have started in the first place. I asked her if she had kids, which she stated she had 2 and that they will never smoke. I stated that I too have 2 kids and I hope they never start smoking. And that giving birth to them was the easiest thing I ever did. She got real nasty and demanded to know how I would possably know how painful child birth is. I said I don't. But it looks to me as easy as quiting smoking does to you.

Maybe you could get a box of niccorette gum to keep around for when you can't smoke. It may save you a little money in the long run too.
Niccotine is the best safest medicine available to treat adult attention deficit disorder. Copenhagen can says it satisfies. They must have known that in 1822. Drug companys don't want you to know that today. In other word some folks really need the niccoteen to be at their best.

July 30, 1987-3:00p.m. Last smoke after 25 years of following a pipe around. It's not fun for awhile, and you'll still get the urge once in a while for several years. The effort is definitely worth the discomfort. I'm now 63 and have excellent lung function and health otherwise. Stillout cutting firewood all winter,etc. I know I wouldn't be able to do it if I hadn't stopped when I did. Good Luck,
Paul

David I smoked 2 packs a day for a good part of 33 years I started when I was 15. Jan 10 it will be 17 years since I have smoked one. I was lucky I guess,I quit cold turkey while I had a very bad cold and carried a new pack in my pocket for 3 days before I shucked them back to the drawer. You must make up your mind that you want to quit.
Jim

I'm an alcoholic and twenty years ago spent a long time in a treatment center drying out and learning how to start living without drinking. That was hard, but physically and emotionally it was nothing compared to quitting smoking. That's hard. Thirteen years later my arm still remembers how it feels to lift the butt to the lips. Worth it, though.
My father died of congestive heart failure when he was 56, after a stroke at 53 (It was over a month before he was able to drink again; he started back smoking as soon as he got out of hospital.) and triple bypass at 55. I'm fifty-five next week - pulse 60, blood pressure normal, weight 155 lbs, down from 250 thirty years ago, work circles around co-workers twenty years younger.
If I can, you can. And twenty years from now you'll still be posting those fine photos from across the pond.
Good luck, Wm
