I've got one of the big 4wd Mahindras. Its a '02 model 6000 (60HP diesel/4cyl direct inject). Has 16.9 x 28s (filled)on the rear and 11.2 x 24s on the front. Its got an FEL that will lift 4000 lbs and the 3 pt hitch will lift almost 3700lbs. I've got about 255 hrs on it now and have had no problems to speak of (Only warranty item was an O-ring in the Power steering resevoir started leaking at about 100 hrs. Mahindra came, got the tractor, put a whole new resevoir in and brought it back (they also changed the fuel filters while they had it). As I said, no complaints.....BobG in VA

Some of them were the same as the older Cub Cadet compacts and they may of been Mitsibushis (sp?) I had a Cub Cadet 20 hp model and it was a good tractor, but filters were hard to impossible to cross over and IH wanted too much for theirs way higher than for my Deere's.

The little (18-20hp) Mahindra tractors are Mitsubishi made tractors, the rest are made in India and have been in business for well over 50 years. From what I have seen, they are a good built tractor, have not heard one word bad about them.

That's kind of interesting about the little ones being Mitsubishi. They used to be sold under the Satoh name, I didn't know Mahindra was selling them now. I contacted Mahindra in India some years ago. To my surprise, they got back to me several times. I asked them about new parts from new tractors fitting my older 1963 B275. They make a new E40DI that is based on the old B275 and B414 tractor. They told me that 80% of the new parts will fit my old tractor - and I could even buy a new style direct-injection engine to fit my old tractor.

I don't think they are officially supposed to sell us parts to use on IH tractors though. Legal stuff.
But if you can know the model Mahindra tractor that is like your IH, just tell them you have that Mahindra tractor :)

JD do you know which Mahindra is like the IH444 ?

I don't know. Here's all the info I have on what Mahindra used in the newer tractors that shared some parts with the older.

The E40-DI has a three cylinder 115 cu in diesel. Everything else is almost identical to a
B-275-414 including manual steering and a 8.3 gpm hydraulic pump, except it has a single
clutch. It is rated 39 engine HP @ 2450 rpm and 31 pto hp. The C4005-DI has the 144 cu in four cylinder diesel that was introduced in the B-275 and
hydrostatic power steering that was first offered in the 424 and the dual clutch to give live pto. It
also has the 8.3 gpm hydraulic pump. It is rated 39.5 engine HP @ 2300 rpm and 31.5 pto hp. The C4505-DI has the 154 cu in diesel that was introduced in the B-414 and 444 and also has
hydrostatic power steering and dual clutch. It has 8.3 gpm hydraulic pump. It is rated 43 engine
HP @ 2300 rpm and 34.5 pto hp. All of the gearing on these three models, pto, etc, is of the same design as the 275, 414, 424,
444 line of tractors. The C5005-DI also has the 154 cu in diesel but has partial mesh gears in the transmission which
was introduced in some of the later successor models of the same design by IHC. It also has
dual clutch live pto and a 9.4 gpm hydraulic
pump. It is rated 51 engine HP @ 2600 rpm and 42 pto hp. All of the sheet metal with the exception of the fenders and ROPS is also the same as the older
IHC tractors and a large portion of the parts will fit the older IHC tractors.

It's a company in India - they used to make tractors that sold under the International Harverster name - e.g. IH B250, B275, B414, etc. Good tractors. some of the new ones are based on the old tractors with updated engines.
