saw 92 hawks sitting along I 40 today between Memphis and Little Rock. Never had seen so many hawks in all my life.

Hawks already did the migrating thing thru here 2 months ago and you would see that many while shredding in one field alone. What is a pain is when they come thru and lots of dead rabbits on highways having to slow down to dodge hawks. You sure don't want to hit one and risk damage like usually busting out a windshield.

Seems like the Hawks really come out in Dec. I see a lot of them circling. I think they like catching the free ride, of rising warm air, on cool days.. As a kid, I remember it was rare to see a hawk, evidently banning DDT was what made them come back...

You must not have driven in that area before, or at least this time of year. If you ever ran the 140 miles of Interstate 55 north from West Memphis to Sikeston you would see that quite often. There are not a lot of trees near the interstate, but where there is you will see one, otherwise they set on the fence posts. They usually stay about 1/4 mile apart from each other so they are not hunting in each others aera.
