Momma always said when the Man upstairs gives you a dead possum, make possum stew!!!

J/K That's some serious cold weather.

What kind of dozers do you push the coal with? We use high-lifts and blend the stuff by the bucket. Just pull in a drop it from full height through the grizzly. I spent all last night driving that ragin' bull that is a prep plant. Had a good night. Had my loader man home by 2am. Makes him happy cause he gets paid til 4:30. If I can get him home, it's money in his pocket. Higher coal prices have pushed the quality down and we have been struggling to keep our head above the water. Some nights them fuel bins have less in 'em that we started with. Temps like that listed above will have the fuel sliding back down the beltlines. Looking up and seeing 5 tons of the stuff heading your way at a trot is a memory that'll stick with ya.

Keep your greasy side greased...

Aaron

Aaron We run caterpillar dozers. There is a mixture of what we have.D8-s D9-s D10-s there is different series of them.different weights.they range from 300 horse to 575 horsepower from 79000-147000 pound depending on the equipment.
The 147000 is a big haawwgg. The weight on a dozer is very important.the bigger long stoke engines with low RPM is the power.
Have a good one.

I understand that your operation is 24 hour, but what does the rain do to your manifolds? Do you shove into a grizzly/hopper? How big is the turbine/generator? We run a small trash burner up on our hill. Burns up the waste coal generated by the local mines and we mine gob piles and silt ponds from the mines and prep plants that have dotted the area throughout the last century. Cleaning up these refuse piles and using it to generate electricity is a win/win situation.

Aaron the rain runs down around the engine manifolds turbo it burst them when they are so hot.
4--600 megawatt units here.take 1000 ton per hour if all units are full load.
Have a good one.
