Hello folks. I have recently been getting e-mails saying that wealthy people with my same last name have past on and have no living or designated heirs. The sender claims that since I have the last name that I am entitled to the dead persons money. I have heard some people swear it is legite but I am skeptic. Does anybody here get these e-mails? Are they jokes? Are they legel? Please let me know Thank you (Sunny 4)

I'm sure you know 100% before you posted that it's a scam. That being the case, why would you post the question here? If you've been here at the YT site before, I'm sure you've seen questions over and over again about the same type of thing. It's not even worth asking about.

Aloha, Yeah, I got one of those a couple of weeks ago. The email stated that my relative with my same last name in Africa somewhere, was in an accident and left me several million. Yeah right, if that was true, a lawyer would be knocking on my door for his share. LOL

Mahalo,

It always amazed me that Africa, the poorest continent, has so many wealthy people to die... And the never have any heirs... Yes, it is a scam...

It's a scam. Just delete them. If you reply to them they will start requesting money for things like 'release of birth certifcates' and 'transfer fees'. Last week I read in the paper of a single mum with 3 kids who lost $10 000 in this way. Sometimes they will request bank account details and try to clean you out. I've had a couple of these E-mails and assumed they were scams. Later I checked with my accountant who said that legite cases such as this were rare, but the first contact would be made in a letter from a law firm or the public trustee. Still didn't stop me from dreaming about how I'd spend it :)
