Yesterday I was travelling on a narrow paved street at the edge of town and met another truck just like mine--a Ford f-250. Our mirrors collided with each other snapping mine back but breaking his in a million pieces. The guy wanted to swap insurance info but I told him that would be a mute point as no one crossed the center line and the cost of turning it in would be worse than buying a new mirror.

Just about had that on Mt Washington when some Chicken Sh*t was comming at me in the middle of the road and would not move over an inch. I stopped and sat on my side until he got his wide glazed eyes and white knuckles past.S.O.B. still nearly rubbed my vehicle and he had 24"-30" of good road to spare on the far side. He was leaning so far forward over the steering wheel his forehead was up to the windshield.

Been there done that, was a whole lot cheeper for me to buy a new mirror....125 for a mirror assembly or 500 to the insurance man.

Back in the 60s , when I was in high school, Highway 18 was a narrow 2 lane with crbs on both sides. We had 2 school busses do that same thing one night.
