Morning guys,

Brought my old 1066 up here into the hills so I could stuff the air conditioning back in the silly thing this winter. Someone had swapped it out for a swamp cooler.

That ain't a gonna work fer me, 'cause I'm picky. :>)

Anyways, in the process, I finally found that silly four-way flasher. Geeze! Only took me 2 months too. :>(

When I was a kid we lived in Oklahoma, where it is very dry most of the time. Everyone had swamp coolers, in their house and even some cars. They really worked well in that climate. The only time you smelled the swamp was when you first started them up, after that they cooled quite nicely and the humidiy was actually welcome. When we moved to Kansas City, we had one on our VW bus. It didn't take long before we realized it was not at all suitable for this humid clime.

Hi Guy,

I need everything concerned with the A/C up front. The compressor, pulley/clutch and that silly mounting plate/adjuster thingy.

When they put the swamp cooler thing in, they just ditched all the "front stuff".

I hate that swamp cooler. It "rains" on me. :>(

Thanks,

Allan

We had a swamp cooler we used in the house when I was a kid. It was especially pleasant when no one cleaned it, and instead of tepid, moist air we got tepid, moist, moldy air. Its a wonder we didn't all die of the gallopin' crud. Give that sucker a kick for me, after you jettison it off the cab.

You Betcha Mike,

I yanked one off the Hydro 70's cab; will steal the fan motor from that one and also this fan motor to use as condenser motors on the original IH condenser.

Don't know how those swamp coolers work, but do know that they really look ugly. :>)

Yup

I knew it was right where someone put it.

Your lucky its one of those low cost ones.

The flasher unit in my MX200 also controls other lites and has a 4pin and a 6pin connector plugged to it.

It went bad and it costs $149 to replace it.

Haven't bought it yet thinking and can rewire it and use one of that style.

Gary

Another reason why I like "old" tractors. :>)

Back in 1987, I went to a junkyard and bought an old Chevy pickup cab just for the air conditioning parts. Somebody had "chopped" the rubber lines and the system had been setting there in the weeds, open for at least 10 years.

Anyway, long story short, I took that whole danged air conditioner and installed it in my old brown pickup. Filled 'er up and it has been working to this day. One of the coldest air conditioners I've got.

Hope I can get as lucky with this old tractor. Summer is coming and it's gonna get hot! :>)

Yeah, darnit!

Everybody told me it was "behind the right battery" and "behind the right cowl".

Darnit! They should have said "inboard" of the right battery. :>)

Thing I can't understand is why you would want to flash on your tractor, especially in this weather. I went out and sat on my old M for about 4 seconds with no clothes on this morning when I first read your post and I didn't get anything out of it but a cold butt. You guys up there in the great northwest got too much time evidently. Harley
