Not proud of this at all, but sometimes ya just gotta do what ya gotta do.

Made this flexable "flap" out of left-over 1/2" thick rubber floor mat. 'Twas the only way it was gonna work; the steel door section just would not clear that darned strut. :>(

Good thing I'm half monkey anyway. :>)

Looks like you are going to have to be a gymnast just to get into that outfit... not something I"d want to do in my winter coveralls...

Well,

This actually is the best is has been since I mounted the loader. Getting off and on with those fenders was awful.

However, you bring up a darned good point.

I've got to get in the habit of putting the Hi-Lo gear shift in neutral when I get off and on to open the gates. If I should happen to catch that hydro lever on the left side with my coveralls during a slip, I could end up pulling that tractor tire right over on top of myself.

Saw that danger right off the bat. Loose coveralls and that darned hydro stick don't mix very well in a somewhat tight space like that.

It"s hard not to be in a rush sometimes- I was climbing up from thre rearof my Farmall 300 and my foot slipped off the axle. Thought I was in for a lot of pain as I did the splits over the axle casting. Just so happend my feet landed on a 2x4 saving me from hard hit in the nuts!

Watch yer step!

Hey buddy, I betcha I can help tone down that radiator. I'll just send you a 4' cheater pipe for you to carry around in the cab. About halfway through the first day it will beat out the winder glass on the off side and there ya go, no more heater problems. Harley

You can find one of those valves on probably about any winnebago in a junkyard. A throttle or choke cable stolen from a long dead lawnmower ought to do the trick to open and close it.

Allan

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You'll be quite happy with her looks on those bitter cold days and the four legged critters with be more than overjoyed to see it bringing them food.

Sounds like some sort of valve to control coolant flow is needed on that heater. Lots of options.

Looks like you got the hydraulics plumbed up. I know its too late now, but if you replaced the two single acting valves with one double spool mono block, there are some valves out there that have a mechanical connection that allows the use of one control lever to control both spools. It ends up just like the joystick in previous posts, but without the cables in between.

Well, you won't have to worry about catching the door bottom an a wheel lug if you forget to close the door and back up! Plus it'll make a great pet door for your pet raccoons!!

Allan, sounds like you need a heater control valve like the 60&70 cars and trucks used to have. You could control water flow as you need.
My 2 cents....

Sure ain't nothing wrong with that, plus, when you bark your shins on that rubber it won't hurt nearly as much.

and, if one of those mysterious "barking spiders" should happen to toot inside the cab, you can shake the mudflap to get those toxic vapors out!!!

Well, I dunno.

I sure as heck wasn't gonna give up my F-10 loader and after sitting inside that cab on some pretty cold days, I fer dang sure didn't wanna give it up and go back to a weather-beater.

I can live with this..... ..If I can just figure out how to calm that darned heater down a bit. Whooooie, that thing can throw the heat! :>)

One of your pictures had a shutoff at the head. Can't you reduce the flow part way there enough to keep temp inside down? It would make it take longer to warm up tho. Gaylen

Allen put a manual flow control valve like the d combines had in the 70s?I would want the valve inside within arms reach if pos.I think your project is still better than a hay hook and dragging bales thru snow and mud

You could rig a lever operated ball valve in the input heater hose. Mount it to a bracket and rig a cheap choke cable to operate it. Should work good, farther you pull the cable the more the water flows and the warmer you get.

Looks good If you are worried about that heater baking you out of the cab just send her on up here to Wisconsin. I am sure I can make pretty good use of that setup for pushing the snow around when it gets really cold. 8)

Somewhere along the line, someone has mounted a coat hook in the upper rear corner of the cab.

Think I know why. :>)

I would rather have it to warm in the cab then to cold. You can always crack the door open a bit after you have your coat hanging up on the hanger.

Put a valve in line to slow down the flow.
