Wow! It was a wild one today with winds at 70mph+ and rain coming sideways. Lots of trees down and heavy rains make for a massive cleanup starting tomorrow. Got all the chain saws and got the big flatbed trailers ready. Guess I'll get back to the phones and start setting up a schedule. Just had a bunch of the properties all cleaned up and can start all over trying to get ready for holiday next week. Oh well, maybe we can make a dime or two. Guess I could go out and start on my own tree thats down in the back yard but its hardly safe to be out there yet. Maybe even get to put the old Farmalls to work pulling big ones out to the road. Must be Nov. in the northwest. Migraine

Hi Migraine, take care up there in the north western area. We did not get much of the high winds. Mountains took the edge off of it before it hit us, over here in the dry lands. The wind we had last nite was warm and out of the south west. I thought it was spring, for couple of hours anyway. Must have been in the mid sixties around 6 pm last nite.

We have only had a couple of weeks of really cold weather so far, my horses did not start hairing up untill mid Oct.

Take care with them chainsaws, they have habit of biting you if you fall asleep. I got my saw out, sharpened and adjusted the chain few day ago. Be carefull watch out fur them widow makeres...

Sounds like a pretty typical November on the NW coast to me. Just palin owly! When I lived there (37 years),it wasn't uncommon to have a howler storm around Thanksgiving with the turkey in the oven and end up finishing the bird in the barbeque!

Back in February of '96, we got 16+ inches of rain in three days out of a "pineapple express".

I see we have already surpassed the mark for the most rain in any November on record- over 11 inches- and only halfway through the month! Another inch or so, and we'll have the rainiest month ever- by the looks of the weather report, should have that by the weekend. We escaped the high winds in SW Washington, but plenty of water in the rivers. Hunker down.

Top wind gust yesterday in Western Yamhill Co of Oregon was 122mph up on Mt Hebo. Lots of rain too. I wait until the winds die down before I go to the woods.
My saws are sharp and the tractor is ready. What blows down becomes next years firewood.

Stay warm and safe. Grub

Just heard on weather channel that some areas had winds in excess of 120mph. Sure hope all of you are still safe and in your homes. God Bless. Bob Da. (La)

We must have got the tail end of your storm here in south central Idaho yesterday. It didn't blow 70 mph but not far from it. It blew so hard it took me half the day gathering up all my junk 1/4 mile down the road at the neighbors. It must have blown my live in down there too, that's where I found her anyway. lol
