Anyone know what a good plug for a 1946 235 would be? There are A-C M8's in it now. Just looking for other options/opinions! Anyone know of a good crossover chart online?
Thanks!

My book shows - for the 10 mm X 1/4" reach plug a Champion UY6 or AC M8. But - my old Motors book doesn't show any 10mm plugs being used until 1949 and lists that year as the first for the 235. For 46 it shows a 14 mm plug - either AC 46-5, or Champion J-8 - even with the 8800 GVW trucks.

Odd! My info has the 235 being produced as early as 1941 as a "High Torque" engine! From what I can find out, it looks nearly identical to the 216, but has different bore/stroke and other differences. I did some research this summer when I got the truck so I could be sure to get the right parts. All I could find out about the plugs is that it came with either an AC 104 or M8, both are hard to find! I think the Champion UY6 is more common. I HAD an "Interchange Chart", but can't find it now! Thanks!

I don't think the '46 came with a 235. I believe it would be a 216. If the valve cover is held on with studs through the top it is a 216. Also if I remember correctly the M8 spark plug is a 10mm. doorman

The first 235's came out in the bigger trucks in 1946. Both motors had the two studs through the top cover. The 235's also had oil pans that were stamped with "235" on the side. There were other differences, but they looked pretty close to each other! You are correct - the M8 is a 10mm plug. I'm just looking for a replacement that is easier to get ahold of!

Pretty sure that truck came with straight 46s in it. 46C for heavy duty service.

Is that an AC number or Champion?
