True story, happened last week.

A teenager I know was asked by his father to see if the milk in the fridge was sour. Being quite the smart acre, he took this as an okay to take a swig from the jug. He did and found out quickly that the milk was indeed sour. He looked around fratic, trying to find something to wash the taste out of his mouth when he spyed a bottle of water in the back corner of the fridge. He grabbed this and took a double swig.

It weren't water.

It just happed to be his fathers secret stash of Wetzel Couty's own carburetor cleaner and cold medication. Two people dam*ed near died that day. One out of laughter. Aaron

I have heard that the old man gets smarter as the son ages. I have a 27 year old that commends us as parents being wiser than the teenager he was and have a 25 year old that asks advice on the unimportant things (such as cars, plumbing and electical things) and forgot to ask about the important things such as love and marriage.

I am going to be 38 in a few months. I thought I was a tough guy and knew most everything when I was 19. But as I got older and wiser I realized that there was (and is) a lot of skills in many trades that I didnt know and I found myself getting smarter at the school of hard knocks and dumber in the school of acedemics. Hard work is always a good thing if you are paid what you are worth. Being a skilled machinist, machine builder and carpenter is not a bad thing.....but my brain would explode at a 4 year university.

I was only kidding up there was I said I knew everything. Kind of mocking the people my age. I agree with you on the school of academics. To get where I want to be in life I don't need to spend a mint at a college. I'm farther ahead right now than most people are after college graduation, and I don't have a pile of student loans : )

I would have paid to see that. I can picture either of my 2 doing the same. They are 15 & 16 and THEY KNOW IT ALL. Good kids just smart arces all the way around.

Me as the Old Man don't know squat. If they make it to 18 it will be by grace of God as he favors idiots and the like :)

You know the story of the 17 year old that remarked that "the Old Man" was so dumb he could hardly stand to be around him, but he was amazed at how much "Dad" had learned by the time he was 22. I had the experience of my own flesh and blood that was not prone to take advice as a teen, but later would ask my opinion about things. I found out he would ask many people andthen form his informed opinion about what ever it was. Made me proud.

There is hope,

Areo
