As some of you know my tractor buddy Wayne W. of Keystone Heights, FL has been battling a losing war with cancer for the past 3 yrs. He passed away last Thursday. I wrote out the below as a farewell - posting here for his friends and family that read this site.

For my friend Wayne

God looked around HIS Garden and found an empty place. He had no driver for His Allis-Chalmers tractors.

He then looked down upon HIS earth and saw your glowing face.

He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.

HIS Garden must be beautiful, as He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering; He knew you were in pain.

And He knew that you would never pull a plow on earth again.

He saw your path was difficult; he closed your tired eyes,

He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and then He gave you wings to fly.

When you are sleeping so calm and free of pain,

We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again.

Wayne - you've left us precious memories, your love will be Claudia's guide,

You live on through your children; you're always by their side.

GOD is wiser than I so go get on that old Allis, hook up the plow and enjoy the ride.

It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.

For part of us went with you on the day God called you back home.

May God Bless & Keep You

I'll miss you buddy

Sorry to read of your loss Shep.

That farewell you wrote may just sum up the thoughts of some of the rest of us here that have lost close friends.

No sir. He was an ex-coworker, my ex-boss in a previous job and all the time tractor buddy. He was the one who persuaded me to consider Persian Orange when all I could see was Meadow Greena and Clover White.

As a kid he used to assemble WCs somewhere up in IL. He moved to the South. I helped him locate a B and WD; he always wanted a G.

Just this spring I bought the WD and other equipment to help them out on $$. Been trying to sell his parade ready 1939 Allis B. Just told his wife I would buy the B as she does not know what to do with it now that he is gone.

Thanks Shep. I send my condolences on the loss of Wayne. He must have been a great friend and I know he will be missed. That is one beautiful farewell poem and speaks of your friendship and love for him. He is looking down from heaven right now as he drives God's allis in a garden rich with bounty and devoid of weeds and insect pests. Maybe,in fact I'm sure he feels sorry for us left down here battling the elements and just the cruelty of this world. Yet ,he lives on in you, in his children and in his wife so the world hasn't lost him as we keep his memory alive. God Bless. Bob Da. (La)
