Went by my buddys this morning and we darained the oil from the farmall h. The oil had no water in it and was not really that bad, put the oil back in. No drop in water in the radiator. Went to town and got new oil filter, more oil, can of 5 minute oil flush and anti freeze. Came hom, started the tractor and got it good and hot, then added the 5 minute flush. Drained the oil and water, topped off with oil , filter and anti freeze. Ready to go now.

You may be better off putting non dertergent oil back in this tractor since today oils can break loose gunk and end up plugging passages .

Something else that works good is Berryman's B12 ChemTool. Comes in a spray can for carb cleaning and a pour-in for the gas tank or the crankcase. Excellent stuff. Can be had at your local WalMart.

I guess that sludge was just old oil that had sat for 50 years. Sounds like yall got the old H running pretty good. Like the idea of dyeing the water in the radiator red. We use to do that to find fuel leaks in aircraft structures.
