A friend of mine recently purchased a "Groundhog" tractor and is in the process of restoration. It is a small machine similar to a Gibson, with a one lung Briggs. Unfortunatly, info on this beast is rare to non-existent. If anyone has one, knows anything about them, or has manuals, specs etc. I would really appreciate it if you could send me an email. (I posted this a couple of weeks ago, with
a bad email address, if anyone tried to respond to
that, thanks, and if you could send it again - this address works) Thanks - John

although I am by no means an expert, I own a groundhog and know a bit about their history.

Mine is a 9hp with single rear wheels. The company was in tacoma washington and was reported to have made close to 10,000 units over the years, although that number seems very high to me. They made a dually version, but the torque was so high with the 9 hp wisconsin engine that they had troubles with breaking the rear axles.

I can tell you they made a whole lot more than 36 units... I have a blade on the front of mine and a horizontal bar hitch on the back for a plow that I have but have not ever mounted or used.

I have a few xeroxes of the original sales brochure and some engine info. Send me an email if you folks are interested...

Tor: I'd be interested in copies of the sales brochure and engine info. I have two groundhogs myself. Plus a copy of a newspaper article about the company. I don't think they made more than a couple of hundred units total.
