How is the deer hunting in Greenup, Lewis, or Carter counties? I have a chance at some land up that way but no nothing of the area.

I am researching now. Seeking your inputs.
Thanks in advance,
ShepFL

Should be able to find plenty over that way. Just be sure to tell every one you know all the deer in KY moved east of I 65, we do not have any left in Western KY, all gone. Thanks.

Dave

They're thicker than hair here in Lewis Co. I don't deer hunt but about everyone who goes after one , get's one. Most people around here can't even have a garden for the deer and the coons. Come on down and thin some of them out. I've lived here all my life on a large farm and never saw my first deer until I was 30 years old. From then on they really multiplied--

I'll certainly second the other comments. Great deer herd up there. I worked in Carter Co for 4 years back in the early 90's. They arent as thick there as they are here (central KY) but they are thick. Shouldnt have any problem filling a tag.

Here, we have unlimited antlerless deer hunting. You can kill as many as you can tag. Been seeing over a hundred at my dads place every day.

I remember working around woodford and this one farm keeping a 100+ herd(guess they didnt hunt). It was wild as people would drive by to see them. It seems like it was on the midway road.

Deer hunting is excellent in that area. It is very hilly, edge of the appalachian mountains.

Deer around here are bigger than those found in the deep south. Will certainly be some turkey found in those counties as well.

Hope that helps

There was a huge whitetail killed across the Ohio river from Lewis County, in Adams county, Ohio . The deer was killed opening day of Bow season. Here is a picture. copy and paste the link in your browser
