Are any of the big farm supply chains still carrying GL-1 oil for the old tractors? Walmart and TSC here don't carry it anymore by the looks of it.

Why worry about using the GL-1. The newer oils are much better.

TSC has it.. but does not say GL-1.. it is marked for ford trannies 1939-1952.. etc.

Penzoil and castrol make a gl4/5 oil that is yellow metal safe.

Gl-4 Marine gear oil is fine in machines which have copper alloy componets that the sulphur in GL-5 will corrode away.

GL-1 90w Mineral Oil 5 gallons
Napa Part# 65-205 1 gallon
Napa Part# 65-201

I had to get a gallon recently. My local Napa
store didn't have it in stock, but they can order it.
If they ordered it, the minimum order was 6 one gallon
jugs of oil. Or I could drive out to the main
store/warehouse and buy one gallon there.
Cost about $8 for one gallon.
I had to go by there anyway so I just picked it up
from the main store/warehouse.
