My grandpa told my about a kinda box thing that Tractor Supply made that had a pump, reservoir and hookups for hydraulics. He said that they sold these when hydraulics were starting to become popular and some older tractors didn't have hydraulics. He said that it just went right on the PTO and then you had everything that you needed. Anybody heard of this or remember it?

Thanks

My father has one made by Int. It came with a snow plow to fit on his W-4. The tractor was used in he winter to plow the docks at the Port of Albany (NY). Has a nice round tank about 5-6 gal capasity with a long handle to a 2-way valve all in one unit. Bolts up to the PTO seal bolts. Tried it out a few years ago,(just sat in the back of the garage since g-pa died over 50 yrs ago) and still works like new! Puts out around 700 psi. Mike

My dad sold the Char-Lynn Hi-Lo power pac which mounted on the PTO shaft. It had 2 valves and hook-ups which worked well with a loader and bucket. Other manufacturers of hydraulic pump and valve packages included Be-Ge, Energy Mfg Co, Gresen Mfg Co, Monarch Road Mchy Co, Vickers, and Warner-Motive. They could be mounted to run by a chain and sprocket, belt and pulley, a drive shaft or whatever.

My uncle had one on a WD. It was round, went on the pto and had a lever you could reach from the seat.

massey

These are a little different than what Allan is using on the farmhand loaders.

The control valve is right on the pump with a lever that came up behind the seat to activate it.

With Allans pump you have to have a seperate control valve located somewhere to direct the flow of the oil.

Not really because what we had and have could be run with a remote valve or with the valving built into them.Nothing has really changed in the last 60+ yrs.

Yes I have heard of them.

Even got an old one here that dad had on a MM tractor.

I remember it being on the tractor but don't rememeber using it.

I was only about 5 or 6 at the time.

I can get a picture if you like.

If it isn't any trouble than a pic wouldn't hurt.

Thanks
