On them PFC systems it takes a Flowrater and and Anilizer together to figure out just what they are doing and when . So this is one time that you are going to have to bit the bullet and let the trained professionals have alook at it . I do not have the Analizer to go with my flowrater and i am in the dark on the PFC systems for now as i can not run the test on them .

If memory serves me, the 88 series used a separate steering pump. The pump toward the rear is really two, charge/lube and steering, PFC is to the front and only used for remotes and 3pt.

Steering regulator valve is on the pump, the spring breaks(chips) sometimes and causes the valve to stick.

VET: the PFC analyzer is nothing more than a fancy tee and pressure gauge. I have a practally new one in the box, use my 'home made' tool instead.

Once you are familiar with the PFC pump operation you would find it fairly easy to diagnose.
