I had both hands done 2x & they are a lot better. I did the wrist splints & pills & nothing worked until the surgery got done.
Go for it it will help a lot.

Had two carpel tunnels done three year ago and they worked out fine. I had almost no feeling in my right had fingers before the surgery and the feeling returned. I also have had 2 artificial knees, and two metal shoulder replacements all this surgery taking place in just two years and have had outstanding result. IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE DOCTOR AND YOUR ATTITUDE GOING IN.

Hey now! I might be able to add something useful to a post! I have CT, and use the elastic and velcro braces from the pharmacy - when I sleep. It helps most times. If I forget, I wake up in the middle of the night just about ready to scream. This is my cheap fix for now. My brother started the same way (and Dad) with the braces, but finally had the surgery done - 4 hours away from home. He had both wrists done at the same time, which the doctor said was ridiculous, but did it anyway. My brother said his wife stopped to let him go to the bathroom along the road. When he was done, he had to yell to her to come help him "finish up" because his hands wouldn't work. They work great now and he never complains of any pain. I'd say go for it, one hand at a time.

Best of luck,

Bill

My mother doesn't want the surgery so she tried wrist splints and they help her.

In my profession of dentistry many people have to have carpel tunnel surgury due to the chronic gripping of instraments. Most outcomes I have heard about are positive, depending on how soon the condition is recognized and treated.

The surgery on my right hand took about 5 min I was in and out in 2 hours from sign in to check out. There is hardly any scar (small V shape at the root of my palm) and the relief was fantastic. Mine wasn't so much pain as I lost the feeling in my fingers. It got to be real tough working on things and not knowing if it was actually being held in place. Kid of like using chopsticks. I did this 5 years ago. I am starting to get some loss of feeling again so...is it permanent? I'm not sure.

I"ll have to agree with Slo. I had my left hand done in Jan Of this year and it was amazing. I forgot that your hand can get hot or cold as mine was so far gone I had no feeling, numb most of the time.Would I do it again, in a heartbeat. It sure is nice not to hurt all the time. Later, Nat
