I am going to work on the transmision and rear end on my MD. After I drain the rear end oil is there something I can put in and run it around to rinse some of the oil off of the gears and bearings. Just something to make my disassembly a little bit easier. My uncle always used diesel fuel but is there something else or will this work. It will probably be apart for a couple of weeks so will things begin to rust or not. Brad

I agree with diesel fuel. In my owners manual for my 730 JD, it says to change the rear end and tranny fluid, drain out the oil, put in diesel fuel jack up the wheels, and run the tractor in gear. Then drain the diesel out, and put oil in. I would think it`d be the same on an MD.

Diewsel fuel worked real good in our F-20. We put 5 gal in tranny, and sinced we had rear wheels off, I turned tranny with 1/2 in drillon belt pully. About 5 minutes and it really cleaned it up. Found more leaky gaskets also!!
