hefty tractor

I would ke imformation on a Hefty F W tractor with continental R engine serial 1102 another name on tractor is Hexco model 8607 serial R7346 I would like year of the tractor and any other imformation that I may receive about this tractor

Don't know about the tractor. The Continental "R" engine is made by Renault hence the R. As far as I know these engines are not made anymore. Some parts are available but are very expensive. They were used in commercial mowers such as the early Toro groundsmaster and Ransomes bobcat models. They were good when they worked but expensive to fix and if I recall prone to warped heads. The grounsmasters came out in about 73 I think. I had an 88 ransomes that I sold because it needed a head gasket and the governor wasn't working properly. I was told from continental that I'd probably have to have the head shaved and a bunch of other stuff. It would have cost over $600 just for a head gasket. Not a bad engine when there good though. They were made in about 1971 to 1975. I have a model F and a model G.
