Are you guys in eastern cornbelt able to get any harvesting done.

Sounds like it's been pretty wet over there.

We were able to get back to combining here in Iowa yesterday after rain Mon thru Wed.

Weather man says rain later today again.

Gary

Central Indiana is wet. Perhaps 25% of beans still in the field, and only about 10% of corn is harvested around here. Beautiful day today, but the fields are so wet you can't walk in them.

Corn is starting to go down badly in some fields, and more rain is due here Saturday evening

Yes, wet in N Illinois. I chisel plow part-time for a big farm, and it looks like I'll be breaking up frost trying to get it all chiseled. Something like 2,500 acres of corn to plow.

We finished chopping the last of our corn last weekend. It was a wet one but we managed to get it all off without getting stuck. We flew through the fields in a higher gear than normal just to keep up the momentum through the worst spots. Only problem is now the corn fields all have ruts a couple feet deep in places. Gonna be a problem trying to spread manure on that frozen ground this winter. We didn't want to leave it any longer as the ground will only get worse till it freezes now, and the corn was already getting a little on the dry side for silage.

Here in SE Nebraska, I have been helping my neighbor with harvest, and all the milo & beans are done. Got started one day on the corn then rained out, started back up yesterday & hopefully today. Chance of rain tonite & tomorrow so will still have about 100 acres to go.

Wet. At least 50% of the corn, cotton and peanuts still in the field around here. Soybean harvest doesn't start until everything else is in.

Wednesday lease farmers trying to chop corn in field next to my dads had two large JDs with FWA trying to yank around a chopper and a wagon having a real rough go of it. Problem is that in this area if they don't get it off now, its lost because it will only get worse. Still quite a bit of corn standing around here, looks like the deer will get fat this winter.
