I just got notification that my email address was picked as the winning one from an organization in South Africa. I need to look it up again but it said that I won $1 Million Dollars. I need to contact them again with my winning ticket number etc. The great news is that the ticket didn't even cost me anything as I don't even remember buying one. Anyway I am going to let all of you know when I get my $1 million check. Lets see now, I could buy a new tractor with my winnings. B. Jones

You are lucky.

I got a letter in the mail yesterday from the Ed MacMahon and Publisher's Clearinghouse Sweepstakes that said

"You may already be a loser"

Hey, it was me that bought you that ticket, so you can split it with me.

My wife's aunt and uncle just returned from spending 18 months in S.Africa as missionaries. They say Johannesburg has one of the highest crime rates in the world. At night they would have to stay in their room with the door locked in a compound surrounded by iron bars and armed guards. He mentioned that there was something wrong when all the good people are locked up behind bars and everyone else was free to roam around and do whatever they wanted.

My wife's Aunt & Uncle have been missionaries in Kenya for the past 4-5 years. Haven't seen them in 2 years. Kinda nuts if you ask me!

It does seem nuts from our perspective, but I'll bet when they come back, if you ask them, they'd say they'd do it again in a heartbeat. There's something about 100% service to others with no thought of reward that makes you feel more strongly about the people you serve.

Yeah, they'd rather be in Kenya than here! They came back for a month or so to meet the guy thier daughter married. Sure, there are a lot of needy people in Africa, but there are lots in this country, too. I never will understand it, nor really agree with it! To each his own.....

If You Think Crime Is Bad Here in reply to Jim.UT, 10-11-2006 12:08:00
I recall an article in National Geographic about it a few years ago, and the high incidence of crime. There it's normal to get robbed or your car stolen every few years, just a normal way of life that everyone gets used to.

Then I will send you the check.

Yeah--they'll ask for your bank account number, your home phone number, your home address, and send you a cashier's check to cover expenses on your end. They will instruct you to cash the check, use whatever you need for expenses on your end, and then send them the balance! It takes up to 30 days for the cashier's check to clear your bank, at which point you will be told the check is "not negotiable"!And, you will be responsible for cashing a no good check, and for the complete amount of the check--the balance you sent to the sender of the check!! And, of course--there's no contest, winning check or amount on their end, and no way to stop them from swindling anybody else! But, even with the education everybody gets here in the good old USA, there are some dim-witted folks who still think the moon is made from green cheese, and they fall for any trick in the book--then wail when they realise they've been had! I advertised a Frazer tiller in this venue, and promptly got a letter from some deviate, asking me to crate it up, ship it to England, and he'd send a money order for it! HAWW! It didn't get shipped! I realise from the tone of your letter that you didn't fall for the scam, but it just tells it like it is! Rustyj
