I'm heading out Thursday from North Carolina to eastern Colorado for the last of my grandfather's antique farm equipment. This time it's his "one way" and a 44h plow. I'm taking the wife and our 20 month old daughter (Mackenzie) and my 3year old "tractor boy" jeb. We'll wave as we pass everyone in between.

I wouild suggest that you be prepared for some cold and maybe Snowy Weather along the front range if you are going that far. I talked to my son at Woodland Park Co. tonight and they have Snow on the ground and real Cool Weather. John

Your son's gotta be pulling your leg. I'm just 3 miles 'down the hill' from him and it's 'drop dead gorgeous' here. LOL.

You going I 40 or us 421?? Us 421 runs right behind my house between 601(yadkinville exit) and I77. If you are going 421 then wave as you go past. Good luck and may God give you traveling grace.

If he has a corn picker or plow, you can drop them off in SE Nebraska (Tecumseh) on your way home! 8^)

one of them is a 44h but I'm restoring it as a companion to my 44 lever action. I do know a guy in Illinois who has a john deere one row corn picker (not pull type) which incidently came from around Eagle, NE which is for sale if you want to email me.

Hiway 36 across Kansas is a good shot west also. Biggest downfall to that route is a town to slow down for now and then. Have a safe trip. Don

If you have an out of state plate is seems like they are a lot harder on you, see them pulled over all the time, and highway 6 is easy to get busted on for anybody. I think the further East you are the faster you can go, Lincoln to Omaha seems like a drag race. Having an out of county plate was reason enough to get pulled over in the county where I grew up.

Hate to say it, but watch your speed limit just after you cross into Colorado. Course, watch it all the time in Neb-they mean it. Drive carefull and have fun.

You are right! Last trip to pick up the jd D I got a speeding ticket on hiway 6 just east of Imperial. That was just 2 months ago. I'm still smoldering about that and my wife won't let me forget it, too.
