My son loves to get on my craftsman lawn mower and ride around. I like it because it goes much slower than a 4 wheeler. I have seen tiny garden tractors that look just like big tractors. I would like to find him one to ride on. Are there anything you guys would recommend. I am not really familiar with these type of tractors. I would just like it to look like a big tractor not a lawn mower.

Thanks
Brandon

Get him one of those old Craftsmen 2 speed transmission and put dual rears on it for him. If you were near TN. I would give you one.

How about a Power King. They even have a little 3 point hitch.

I like the old M-F ones too, they're painted just like the big ones and kind of look like a mini 135

When I was a kid I had an Allis Chalmers B-1. It looked like a real tractor, and was awful tough, much better built than todays riding mowers. The older cub-cadets, John Deere 110, and others are good tough tractors, but are getting pricey as collectors buy them up. I wish i still had the Allis I had.

Depends on how old he is. The $200.00 electric/plastic ones will do great for say ages 4. But above 9 or ten I put mine on the troy built riding lawn mower and carefully teach them about mowing. They havn't gotten too interested in the bigger tractors--yet. They make $$ with the mowing.

Friend of mine once took an old early model Cub Cadet and put a centrifugal clutch (like a go cart) on it with a Briggs engine. His kids saw it as "Way cool". When they got a mite older he put the Kohler back in and had an antique tractor.
Just a thought.

The older Allis Chalmers garden tractors, I think made by Simplicity looked just like a 185, 190, etc. tractor. I always thought I would like to have one because they looked so much like a little farm tractor, some even had a rear PTO and 3 point.

Morning; There are several of the "plastic" electric ones. Then the Pedal type which more closly resembles the bigger tractors. All available through dealers and stores. Only engine driven I have seen are "shop" built. Homemade or custom made. If you find a source I would be interested for the grand kids.
Good luck, Bob
