This is way off topic, but my wife's Sphygmometer / Blood pressure cuff is out of calibration and in need of repair. She was taking my blood pressure for the last few weeks, and its been consistently high. I went to the doctor twice and the BP was okay. Wife is a nurse, so she took it to work to compare with their mercury cuffs. It reads about 15-25 points off. Question is: Are these things repair-able? Does anyone do this kind of work? I remember this thing being expensive 20 years ago, but I'm not so sure in today's throw-away culture.
thanks, Stephen

When you buy a new BP measuring device look for a sphygmomanometer.

Wheter it is adjautable or not depends on model. I used to wokr in hospital maintenace many years ago. some cna be adjsuted by loosening a jam nut where hose goes into gauge and turning hose barb. New ones are inexpensive enough that it is hardly worth the bother though. Teh electroinc ones are prety accurate now too, and don't need another person.

As a Paramedic we often have BP cuffs that need repair. You can throw it in the trash. A new one is about 10 bucks.

Throw it. Head for wally or Kmart. Its more important than a bad oil pressure gauge.
