What would cause a by-pass in a two handled control valve on a front end loader. The lift handle works great but the tilt handle will not hold its position when loaded. Can this control valve be adjusted to hold more weight? Is there an adjustment screw to adjust the flow. This is a reconditioned control valve.

Did you check the loose nut behind the wheel? Ha! Ha!

had another thought, maybe the new valve is bad, try switching the hoses, plumb the bucket control to the loader lift valve and vice versa and see if the loader creeps down instead of the bucket. if it does, the valve is bad, maybe an o-ring or seal.

you may want to check if the tilt cylinders have a blown seal. the tilt on my m did that, i swapped out the valve thinking it was bad, but it still did it. see if the hydraulic fluid leaks back when the cylinder is tilted.

I agree with Glen,

9 times out of 10 a cylinder will be leaking by.
