Ya'know, they have made alot of advances in the technology of the camera and the ability to see directly behind the larger vehicles. The delivery trucks (UPS, FedEx, etc) have the cameras that allow the operator to see behind them. Many companies that make the camera system have dropped their prices for the auto industry. It may be possible and financially feasible to get a video camera system and install it over your baler or other implement.

Kind of reminds me of my school bus driver looking in his mirror trying to catch whoever was shooting the spitwads. But how about a mirror out of an old school bus? It has the mounting brackets already attached.

I don't know what breed of tractor you are running. But a visit to K & M seats and getting a swivel plate for your seat would be a better investment. We bale hay for 4 months straight and that little 20 degree pivot on the rear really saves the neck.

Kelly - All our bailer tractors have mirrors. This shot shows an inside mirror. However for bailing the right outside mirror is the most useful.

Ok, So it looks like I need to rig something up so I can see what's going on and not break my neck. I'm thinking about a old motorcycle mirror mounted by the control for the FEL...I'll post some pics when I get it all rigged up!

Thanks,
Kelly

Take another look, the mirror on that tractor was quite large.....I think that is importent.....you domt have to hunt for the bailer....maybe a truck mirror.....

I saw a Framall SMTA at a tractor show that had pipes extending out of the head light bar on each side with about 4" round mirrors clamped on them ...didnt look bad..... Don

Mirrors are a MUST. Have mine set to see bale size indicator, tailgate latch indicator and the side to side fill indicators on my 664. Used to have all sorts of sore body parts from twisting around to watch the old Vermeer, but the newer baler works so much better, you don't need to look back any where near as much.

Kelly,

This was kind of a new thing for me too. I can watch the baler and the full indicator without ever taking my eyes off the neighbro's wife. :>)
