I'm a 4-H leader attempting "Antique Tractor Restoration" for the first time. Has anyone attempted a project of this nature? Is there a manual in existance on this roaming around? Resource material? I've searched and come up empty. I'd appreciate any info on it. The project is a Massey Harris 30 RC - it's in good shape but needs a heart transplant along with some cosmetic surgery to be parade ready. It received 4 new painted rims and tires last fall.

Few years back, my teen-aged son did a restoration for a "senior project" in high school, and also submitted it as a 4-H project. Had about 200 hours in it, and I don't want to know how much $$! and this one needed little in the basic engine - everything else needed help however. Ignition, elecrical, cooling, cleanup and paint, decals, rubber repair, upholstery, etc. If'n you're going to do this, consider your mechanical abilities, time - (huge time consumer,) and available $$$$!

My personal opinion of your request is, if you do not have the Mechanical ability to proceed with some thing such as a "Tractor Restoration" project with out a guide line such as some kind of Manual you would be wise to stop now and reconsider if you have the ability to see this project to its end.I have witnessed so many people with good intentions ,start a project and mainly due to lack of Mechanical knowledge some where along the way the dreams become a nightmare and the project gets put away till another time which never comes. If all you need are answers to Technical Issues then every tractor Has Manuals available from such as Tractor Supply ,Big R etc.John
