I need to get about 800 gallon of diesel fuel. I am thinking right now might be the best time to fill it. Pices were dropping but now the heating season is kicking in. Any predictions?

I'd say right now, with the USS Eisenhower leaving Norfolk Va. shooting to arrive off the coast of Iran Oct. 22 things could get a little sticky. If it does it'll make Hurricane Katrina's effect on oil prices pale by comparasion. Mon I topped off all my tanks tractors and trucks. Here in NE KS I paid 2.24 for UL and 2.08 for ORD minus .03 for payment within 10 days and .01 for over 1000 gal. Jim

The best time to buy diesel fuel was in 1964...diesel farm tractors hadn't taken over yet, there were still a lot of gas big-rigs out there on the highways(International V-549 comes to mind here), and oil prices were WAY under $20 a barrel.

Best time to buy is at night! Very low cost just a 5gallon can and a hose. HA

I put in 1200 gallon a few weeks ago when farm diesel dropped to 2.60 and the oil compny said it wouldn't get any lower.

I deliver diesel fuel for a living. I would say "Buy it now". As you said, heating oil season is starting, prices will only go up.

Don't really know the answer, but personally decided it was the correct time and ordered a full fillup.
