I was quoted $949.00 (Canadian) for new Agrimaster 11.2 x 28 4 ply rears and Titan 5.00 x 15 4 ply fronts w/ new tubes all around all installed including the 14% canadian tax and a $45.00 service call for my MH 1948 Model 20. If I take B F Goodrich 6 plys in the rear the price goes up to $1,026.00 Canadian.

How fair is this price? Anyone ever heard of Agrimaster? (made in China) Are the Goodrich and 2 more plys worth the extra $$$?

Thanks for your help!

I have been selling Agmasters for 3 or 4 years and have no complant. I avoid putting them on a tractor that is going to be used heavy like field work. I don't think they would last as long as a Goodyear or Firestone, but I haven't seen anything like casings breaking down or blow outs.

Oh and as for the price, it seems pretty high to me but I don't know how that would exchange to US dollars. I would guess that size of a pair of Agmaster here with tire, tube and mounted would be around $600 to $650.

I'll put it this way. Any way you skin that cat, the price is cheap, cheap, cheap. It's probably not a good deal though. I don't know anything about the chinese tires. Although 4 ply is light for just about anything other than hauling the tractor on a trailer. I'd want 6 ply at least if I was working the tractor. As far as Titan tires go... I'll not have another on the property unless it's holding the plastic on the silage pile.
BFG is generally considered a "value" tire. It's cheap, and seem to last fairly well. I would also look around and price out some Firestone Field & Road's or Galaxy/Primex tires. I can't say anything bad about either one really, other than the Firestones are expensive.
Course' if you keep the tractor shedded and the tires shined you might get along just fine with the chinese drives and the Titan's up front, but it wouldn't be my money. Best of luck.

I think I would be looking around for a better deal. 4 ply is like a car tire. no puncture resistance.

Here is 8 ply 11.2x28 for 340.00 US

Link

tubes for 42.00

Link

and 5.00x15 triple ribs with tubes for 99.00

Link

even with the exchange that is only $561 can.
I relize you need to have them shipped and mounted but they are 8 ply. So I would look around some more.

Now I ain't real sure on the current exchange rate. It sounded like a lot at first, but when ya winnow it down with estimated cost per item it's really reasonable. And it's a "you no touch" deal. Know nothing about Agramaster, but $77.00 more for BFG 6 ply; I'd spend the extra money. No doubt about it.
