We all do things on Sunday we consider "fun" and I'm sure raking hay at daylight was that and more. I like to do things that some people would consider "work" but to me it's just relaxing to tinker with an old tractor on a Sunday afternoon. I took the mounted mower off the WD and then decided it was due for an oil change before winter. Don't know if I'll need him to feed with or not but better be ready.

Nice looking WD, Figure to bring mine in from the farm and clean her up this winter. Runs great but faded and a few rust spots, have to get her looking good. Nice looking herd of JD's, Mostly narrow fronts it looks like? Guess they were the predominate sellers. Have fun every day! Bob

I know you meant nothing by what you said earlier, but I knew there are folks out there just looking for an excuse to put a religious spin on anything. Just look down this column. They are already arguing on which day to rest!

Ah, that's just fine. Today I chopped off 10 loads of corn. We started taking off the corn we got in later in the season, and it is actually pileing up a heck of a lot faster than our early corn. 16 loads off about 17 acres of the early stuff, and 10 loads so far off of about 7 acres of the early stuff. We've got about 4 acres left to chop yet, then it's all off. We just might be able to fill that last silo yet...

I don't think of it as work. It's only work if you don't wanna be doing it...

What if God had not took Sunday off ?? I think one more full day he would of been able to get this screwed up world straightened out.

Saturday was the first day of the week until 321 AD, then Sunday became the first day of the week.

I just wanted to give Allan a hard time for working too much. Nothing intended by any of it. I fed cows and checked pastures and stock tanks like always, and then worked on tucking the 2 cylinders away for winter.

To those that look down on what we do as a Hobbie on Sundays I would ask if golf or softball is a sin if its not neither is what we do.

Some of us have no choice. I spent 16 years in law-enforcement and that profession is unable to take Sundays off. Bad guys and stupid don't take Sundays off. Now working on the railroad I have been unable to talk them into parking trains on Sundays. I do firmly believe in my religion but have learned to live with working on Sundays and hope he understands. Growing up on a ranch the old man said that if I was going to eat on Sundays then so should the cattle. So we went to Church and fed cattle in the afternoon.

Oh Heck,

I can't telll one day from another, what hour or date. Can just barley remember what month we're in most of the time. Don't do vacations, holidays or coffee breaks neither. :>)

I'm just so darned thankful that I got another chance to go play in the dirt, don't want to miss a minute of it if I can help it. Not all are so lucky. :>)

Is that the tractor that you had the blue "comfort cover" on at one time?

Oh yeah, that's "Sweet Alice" He works on Sundays too. Seems like the girls want to eat 7 days a week.

I think it takes more than that to scar the skin of us old dirt farmers. Sure enjoy those pictures you guys put on here. Really are worth a thousand words. Nice to see people and equipment in action. Nice shed Dave and a fair amount of value in that green collection. Cowman would love to see more pictures of your herd as that brings back a lot of my past.Migraine
