Grounding question? I recently took the battery out to replace it and the terminals are set up for a Positive Ground ? Is this correct ?

Up till around 1960 give or take a few years almost every thing was set up + ground. Then when they started putting on alternators they switch to - ground. So you can pretty well figure if it has a genny on it then its + ground nad if it has an alterntor on it then its - ground

YESSSSS Thats correct, that tractor, like ALLLLL LL Two Cylinder Deeres, were originally configured as Positive Ground. Through the years some got accidentally changed and its still possible for them to work if reversed provided the genny is correctly polarized and the ammeter leads and coil leads (if a coil ignition) are reversed also.
