Hi Gang;
Ransomes were the largest plough manufacturer in England from the days of horse ploughs until the early 1980's.
This is a typical 2 furrow of the 1930 & 1940 era and accounted for the majority of sales in that period. Could be set at 10 or 12 inches wide by adjusting the beam/leg position on the frame (see the holes in the bar behind no.1 leg. Available with a wide variety of bodies to suit different soil types, and would plough from 4 to 10 inches deep according the to body fitted.
Very popular for ploughing matches today, either used with semi-modern or vintage tractors.
Cheers David

That is one weird plow ? Looks like real easy ground to plow. Give them an old alfalfa field and some hills sides and let em have at it.

Take a closer look there.. I think that's just the reflection of the ground on really nice & shiny bottoms... Mostly just the angle the picture was taken. The coulters look shined up too.

Hi Dave, The plough is a Ransomes TS43A built from 1946 till the late 50s. My uncle bought one new in 1947 for £62=00 to work behind his 1945 Fordson N tractor reg no GNN 660. If anybody in the UK knows were this tractor is please let me know. I used the Ransomes plough in the 1970s for match ploughing with a 1932 Case C tractor. I now match plough with a IH B250 tractor and a IH B12 2 furrow plough with ACE bottoms. MJ

GNN 660 is a Notts number, I have a 1944 Farmall H Reg number GNN 508, registered on 7th Jan 1945 to a farm at Norwell Woodhouse. The tractor is now here in New Zealand.

That looks like a really well designed plow. Can hardly wait to see it at work. Looks as though he probably wishes it were scoured and shined up though. Thanks for sharing and God Bless. Bob Da.(La)
