Off road or dyed diesel is not only free from road tax but is also higher sulphur content, makes more power!

Whatever they want, gas prices around here vary 30+cents from going to work and going home. Cook county has a 10cent metra cta tax boone and McHenry county doestn have. Gas in 4 stations I know of get gas out of rockford, IL Cook county is farther away from rockford then mchenry or boone however gas in cook county is cheaper right now then it is in boone so go figure.

B.C. Sunshine Coast fuel is 109.9 litre. 101.9 for a litre for gas. Four and a half litres make up one imperial gallon.Differant again from u.s. gallons but close.

87 octane is $2.25 at Sam's Club and other discount stations. The Mobil/Chevron/etc. are still at $2.65 and people are still filling at those places.

Diesel I think was around $2.65 at Sam's...

NW AZ about 100 miles from Las Vegas.

You need to study economics, it will give you grasp of what is actually occurring in the oil industry. Supply and demand has an effect as does market speculation. Both are key factors in why the price of gas is dropping.

Dug you might have a degree in economics, but these oil companys can show YOU how they can run the world..Remember the natural gas shortage, i worked for a large company(or maybe i should say the large company) what did not SELL went in storage WELLS, so if you don't think shortages can't be created, then get out from behind that desk and check it out...

MAY GOD BLESS THE USA

Dyed diesel is regular diesel feul that no road use taxes are charged on.It's designated "off road use only", like for farm use. They then put a red or blue dye in it. If one is caught using dyed fuel onroad it is considered tax evasion-and penalties can be stiff.

Diesel fuel that is sold for off road use is not subject to the same taxes as fuel sold for on road use. Therefor the off road diesel is treated with a red dye. This is supposed to prevent the use of off road diesel in vehicles which are used mostly on the road. If you are caught with dyed diesel in your pick-up truck or 18 wheeler, you are subject to a pretty hefty fine. Anyhow, that is how it is supposed to work.

Saw a number of stations in CT / RI / MA today.

Most $2.39 to $2.60...

With one at $2.29!

Filled up at what to my surprise was a full-serve only station in Canton, MA near a client site I was leaving for $2.47. Didn't see the cheaper prices until later in the trip!

Cheapest Reg. UL is $1.94, Diesel is $2.50ish. Funny thing, on drive to work at 5:am, gas was $2.15, when wife came in at same staion it was $1.99 a few hours later she was going back and price had dropped to $1.94.....This is at a high traffic Chevron station that is always very competitive on price.
