My girlfriend took a few action shots today while I was opening up the next feild. Just yesterday I finished putting new gathering chains on the head and I had the 2 sprockets that come out the side and drive the roller. I took the old ones to the shop I used to work for, then they cut off the bad ones and welded on new for $45. I've done many sprockets like that when I worked there...

Anyways.... I also touched up the knives again yesterday and re-adjusted the shear bar. It's really amazing how many extra horses just a few thousandths of wear will take to run... First I finished a feild I started last Sunday, and after 9 loads it was starting to wear just a little so the husks weren't always being cut as short as the rest of the corn. I had to pull back to 2nd direct/sometimes under last week. Last night I left it in over the whole time and it cut EVERYTHING the same length.

Don,

Looks like you're giving the old gal quite a work out! Our 1755 does the same thing when I strap the 11' disc mower on the back and burn through the first crop in 4th direct. This past weekend actually turned out to be a good one for field work. We got our last bit of hay up for the year on Saturday.

On a side note, did you ever hear back about that 1850 FWA? Is it still avaliable?

Later,
Eric

I think they may have sold that one. The other they're gonna hang onto for a while until they're done cleaning up around the place.

My dad picked it up at Fleet Farm this summer just so we had something to throw a few things in. It was red, but it was painted with really cheap paint. I think it's made by Larin? We may get another just to mount it right on the haybine we got this year to keep a few things on that too.
