I have one on my '38 F14. As Cowman said, gear pump off left side, cast "manifold" to lift unit under seat. Lift unit is reservoir for system, control lever is on front left side of unit.

As is typical for the time, it's an "all or nothing" unit. Flip the lever one way and the rockshaft arms are all the way forward (or down) and flip it the other way, and they're all the way back (or up).

Entire unit is dead simple, common lip seals on the shafts, easy to make your own gaskets where needed.

If you have more questions, I'll watch this thread.

Never knew they were equipped with such an attachment.Dad had one but every attachment he had, Cult.,Mower etc was hand lift.Any way "Power-trol" is J.D. terminology isn't it?

Oh yeah. IH made an optional hydraulic power lift that consisted of a pump driven off the belt pulley shaft and an under-seat mounted rockshaft. Not very common but I have seen pictures and a few at shows.

No, I'm wrong. The hydraulic pump drives off the left side. Maybe somebody will straighten us out.

Well, you were actually right, too, in a way. It drives off the same shaft as the belt pulley, just the other end of it. In fact, to install the pump, you remove the bearing and bearing holder from the outside of the transmission case, and bolt the pump (with appropriate shims) in it's place.
