My dad owns this tractor and everytime we use it it will quit running when it gets hot. Any suggestions on resolving this problem?

If the original, vented gas cap has been replaced with a non-vented cap, such as modern cars use, that could certainly cause the problem you describe, or worse. Causes pressure build-up (burst/gas-spray hazard) or vacuum buildup (no fuel to carb).

Go out and run it till it stops. Then pull the center cap wire from the cap and check for spark. If you have no spark then your coil is probably going bad.

Could be the coil. It may short when it get hot after running for a while. I"d start there if you think it may be spark related. jim
