Bore da;
Photo of chapel at Cwm-Yr-Eglwys (valley of the church). It was swept away in 1759 during a huge storm. This is the eastern beach of Dinas Island.
Cheers David

We've got a well known old church ruin near here, too.
Just last summer I went to the funeral of one of my father's college chums there. The graveyard is full, they only allow the burying of ashes with a small plaque, and, I think, only members of the families that belonged to the church.
It was built around 1750 and razed by the (it wouldn't be polite to say) in 1779. Rebuilt, it was then burned by W.T. Sherman in 1865.

Interesting picture. It makes one think of all the things that went on in that church building. There is a old stage coach stop where I live, all that's left are the adobe walls. My brother ran cattle in the area for a while. When I was digging a corner post I found a hand made metal fork. When the land was turned into houses the developer actually preserved this piece of history by enclosing what was left with a fence. I am glad to see history being perserved in your area also.
