The old 7.50 x 15 tires on my JD 2030 weren't holding up since I added a loader. New 6 ply tires would have been $82 each plus tube plus mounting and I'd still have the same thing, only new. I ordered a pair of used 16 ply aircraft tires from Gensco and have been very impressed. They came in a few days premounted tubeless with sealer on new heavy duty rims (much heavier than JD original)for a little over $100 each including delivery. Ratings are 210 mph and 14,400# so they should stand up to anything this tractor will dish out. Also, you mail a check after you get the tires. Only thing left for me to do is paint the rims yellow.

I bought a new ford 3000 D in 1973,ag tires on front failed right away to thorns, replaced with airplane tires, no more flats. That pair lasted 20 years, replaced them with same product, they are 12 years now and no flats. Best tires available. Same results on the 15 ft. shredder.

David, My first set of airplaines lasted 10 yrs on my 966 and it has a loader too. I will never go back to standard Ag tires. They just won't hold up like these tires do. The only drawback is the tractor will not steer as well in mud, or wet condition. You will need to use you brakes more than in dry conditions.
The tire thats fits my 966 usually belongs on a Boeing 727 nose wheel.
The 210 MPH rateing always comes in handy at my place...LOL!
Confirmed Beliver....

I have been wanting to try a pair of them on my 1066 to bush hog in thorns. They don't appear to have much tread and was wondering how steering will be. I'm thinking they may tend to slide on grass or loose soil. Let us know how they work out.
