I just bought a case tractor and I am trying to find a manual for it. It's a 1954, Model # is VT 54, no body can come up with that modal #. Every item on the tractor starts with the VT ex. engine VT328, clutch housing VT596, rear axle housing VT590 etc. etc. If anybody can help with this I would appreciate it.

Your casting nrs (except VT54) are for 1950 or later (after tractor serial nr 5458563) VA, VAC, or VAO but not VAC-14.

Just curious, on what casting pisce is the VT54?

Joe

Is this the model # off of the tag under the gages? case used an ID tag that was put on with phillip head screws. Lots of times owner removes it and fails to put it back on, and guess what, becomes lost over time.

If you can post some pictures then maybe someone can help you with the model...HTH

No, V series is not the same as the VA series. They look somewhat similar, but share very few parts. The V series uses a flat head continental engine, VA series uses a Case designed engine with overhead valves. The numbers that he is seeing are the casting codes for the cast parts, I believe.
