Since you talk about celcius I assume you are in Canada like me. Call Combine World in Saskatchewan. Get the rooftop AC unit from an old combine. Some work and cost to install on your cab, but you will be cool. Another option is to buy an evaporative cooler from them. Bycool was one of the old makes.

Good luck

John

I saw in Farmshow magazine where a guy added a 120 volt alternator and then used a window air conditioner in one of the side windows. He claimed to get about 2 years out of an air conditioner.

I saw a thing on the internet for a cooler thing that you layed in the floor of a cab and filled it with ice and it would circulate the air through the ice or water through it and through a core and cool the air. Not sure where I saw it or how much it was, but I have seen it on the internet a few years back. Otherwise, I would just mount an RV air conditioning unit onto the roof and mount another alternator to the tractor (a good 100 amp delco 10si would probably work) and hook up the A/C to the battery, or you could find one with a seperate compressor, but that would probably be more expensive to set up, and then you have more chance of leaking hoses, etc. Check E-bay for a unit. Good luck

When my brother-in-law goes moose hunting in Canada he loads a a big freezer on a trailer and runs it with a portable generator. Do you have a window air conditioner? If not, they're about $69 this time of year. Do you have a generator? How big? Are you creative? Do you have any electrical knowledge? How would you fit the AC into the cab window? How would you ground it? How serious are you about doing this on the cheap? Do you care how ridiculous it looks?

With no AC, you got to run with doors open and drown your self in dust or a large fan blowing in. I suggest a 12 volt fan from a car radiator. the bigger the better. Cut a hole in the roof and mount a filter over it. A fan from like a car water heater is just barely big enough to live with, and the dust will eat the bearing out once a year.

This may sound like a silly question, but does your cab have windows that could be removed?, most of them have swing out windows, and these can be removed quite easily.
Hope this helps,
