Is there any way to check a cow to see if she is pregnant besides calling a vet .Will a human over the counter test kit work the kind you dip in pee

The vet don't do no magic, he just reaches in and "feels" for the calf. Something you could do at home if you knew what you were looking for. Like Pheasant said, punching the cow with your fist will find a calf 6 months or more along. Also once a cow is that close she will start showing other signs, If she is bred less than 6 months it's kinda hard for a layman to tell. How long ago was she bred?

She is one of my best cows she is 7 years old she skiped having a calf this year I blamed it on a young bull heat etc now bull has been with her 4 months and I havent caught her in heat but with work hay and farming that doesnt mean anything has anybody ever tried one of those test kits on a cow /// just think of the rumers I will start if I go buy one of the test kits

you can push on either side just in front of hind leg and feel the calf
