I finally went ahead and did it.

Darned 966 has been showing signs of a bad main hydraulic pump for some time now, so I just ordered that larger, over-sized 17 gpm pump over the phone, shipped 2nd day air.

Pretty sure I'll be able to stop the tears by mid afternoon. Ouch, that smarts a little! :>(

Allan are you sure you didn't blow the o-rings at the pump. They don't cost much. I put a new pump on and it didn't last the summer but found out it was just the o-rings

Be glad it's not a Deere pump. Those closed-centre sons of guns can really cost the bucks.

I'm just as bad, I don't mind the little parts that nickle and dime you to death. I just hate to shell out the cash on the big items. P.S. We will need details & pictures on any new tractor purchase you may make in the near future.

Are you gonna buy that 1466 or have you already bought it? Just think, you can get one of those wing fold disc harrows now. hehehe

Ouch!

So which cost more...

The pump, or the 2nd day air?

Oh yeah,

That was a bit of a shocker too. :>(

Just hope the old pump will last out the day; gettin' awfully weak in the knees and will only lift if I have 'er wound clear up. Even then is is kinda slow.

That ole plow is just too durned heavy Allan. Those were meant to have a hitch on the front ande a wheel on the back, and two in the middle. You'd like them a lot. Hehehe
