Bob, I will add to my other post. There were, according to my book, 57 diesel and 86 gas cane 45s made. "Cane" is the model or option name of the high clearence option.

Bob, I will see about scanning in some pages and E mailing them to you sometime soon. The next few days are busy ones, don't think I will have time until the weekend. I can do some of this stuff, but it takes me a while because I don't do it too often. I have to think how and then get it to work.

Tom

HI Bob, It's Tom, Vaughn's friend. The parts book also says they were only an option for WD-45s. It doesn't say anything about being an option on the WD. Now I know they are basically the same and the parts will fit. However if you are at a pull and someone wants to bust your ballls, and they know, well here is a way if you have a WD, andnot a WD-45. Now how much of a 45 is a question too. The rear end with the serial no. would be a good start, as would a curved shift lever (later WD and all 45s had it, is a constant mesh transmission as opposed to sliding gear), and 45 engine (no side plate on the right side. I still question whether there would be enough power for the larger diameter wheel in a pulling situation. Talk to you sometime, you going to Woodstock with Vaughn? Planning on being there with my WD.

Tom

some old timer said that there is a book out there and it claims they took 15.5 x 38 , they were a option on the high crop models so if this is true i could pull antique class with 38 's because it was offered as a option to wd tractors
